Q: Why the price difference for 6" legends? 6 inch lettering is 6 inches , right?

A: Yes you are Correct. It is even the same font. The difference is the commandant required length is greater. They call it extended. Same font, but about 15% longer. The additional length means more material is needed and is the reason for the increase in cost.
