FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Why the price difference for 6"
legends and 12" legends?
A: The
difference is the commandant required length is greater for the
same height lettering on certain legends. They
call it extended. Although it is the same font, the
overall length is longer which requires more material and
therefore costs more, by as much as 35%, but we have discounted
the price per character in these standard legends.
Q: Are these the only "U.S. COAST
GUARD" legend sizes?
A: No, we make all custom
sizes and lengths to fit your needs. Most of our items are
priced per character, including the legends. Call for a
quote if you have a special use and we can provide you a quote
and further information.
Q: Why doesn't our
replacement legends match up to the ones that came with our the
vessel?
A: Changes in the manual
have allowed for multiple unspecified block style fonts to be
used on certain hulls, which makes purchasing items from
multiple vendors impossible to match exactly, since each font
has a separate character width, spacing in between characters,
shape and overall length. We can match height and width,
but all other variables are virtually impossible to match unless
an exact font with all characteristics being specified.
Everything we have ever supplied for over two decades has been
standardized and is exactly the same unless otherwise specified.
